RANCH STYLE POTATO SLICES

My mother-in-law and I found this recipe, when she was in Milwaukee for a visit last fall. It’s easy and yummie. This recipe calls for a cheese sauce. You can make a cheese sauce with any of your favorite cheeses by simply grating the cheese and melting it in a small saucepan with a little whipping cream until creamy and “sauce-like”. I used cheddar cheese.

  • 6 potatoes cut into 1/2-inch slices
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup cheese sauce, heated
  • 1 cup ranch dressing, slightly heated
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup crumbled bacon

Pour the water over the potatoes and bake in an 8-inch, nonĀ­ stick pan at 400 degrees for 40 minutes. Drain off the water, pour on the cheese sauce and ranch dressing. Finally, sprinkle with the green onions and bacon.

Serve immediately.
