AUNT LOU’S PARTY TACO MEAT

I’m not sure where Aunt Lou got this taco recipe but as we know, she does live “close to the border”! Wonder who she’s been talking to down there? It’s our favorite.

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 2 TBS. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cumin
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano

Brown the ground beef and drain. Doug says that Aunt Lou doesn’t drain hers but then again she probably buys a higher grade of ground beef than I do*** By the way, did you know that her puppies eat chicken and steak for dinner that she specially prepares every night? Anyway, then add the tomato sauce, the chili powder, cumin and oregano. Heat for 15 minutes or so letting flavors blend. We like to prepare our own soft taco shells by placing them into a skillet holding 1/4-inch of hot oil, folding them in half using a pair of tongs and frying them 3-4 seconds on each side. Bring on the cheese, guac, onions, black olives, tomatoes, jalapenos and the sour cream. YUM!
